The last time we had about the sales figures of Huawei’s flagship smartphones the P9 and its bigger sibling the P9 Plus, was two months ago when it was reported that the P9 itself had managed to sell 6 million units on its own without factoring in the P9 Plus.

At yesterday’s launch event for the new Mate 9 in Munich, Germany, we got to know the latest milestone.
According to a figure shared by Leica CEO Oliver Kaltner as he took the stage to elaborate on Huawei and his company’s partnership in coming up with the dual cameras on the Mate 9, the two devices which are now joined by the new (standard) Mate 9 and Porsche Design Mate 9, it became clear that they have managed to hold just fine 7 months down the line.

The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus have sold a combined total of 9 million units.

Previous unconfirmed reports have put Huawei’s own sales target for the P9 and P9 Plus at 10 million units. If that is the case, then the company may be just on course to achieve its goals this year.
