Barely a month since shedding the “beta” tag on the Play Store, the Apple Music app has hit a major milestone. Tha app has in the last few days crossed the 10 million downloads mark and is now listed on the Play Store as having been downloaded between 10 and 50 million times.

This is quite remarkable considering the hostilities that usually accompany the release of any Apple app on Google’s mobile platform as can be seen in Apple Music’s continued low rating (even though to be honest, the app has been very buggy most of the time and the dissatisfaction is not unwarranted).
Apple Music landed on Android last November as a beta, four months after its global debut and availability on iOS, Mac and Windows (via iTunes). It has seen continuous updates ever since that have made it better as well as introduced features that were previously not available like managing shared family accounts and videos.

Here’s to hoping those huge download numbers convince Apple to bring more of its apps to the Play Store. I’m looking at you, iMessage.
