According to Tech Cabal, the UberEats is set to launch in Johannesburg, South Africa by December. This will be followed by a launch of the service in Capetown followed by Pretoria. To show its commitment to the same, Uber has begun hiring for various positions before launching the service with positions for General Manager, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager (Courier), Operations Manager (Restaurants), and Restaurants Partnerships Manager for UberEATS in both Johannesburg and Cape Town advertised on the company website.
UberEats launched in 2014 and has since expanded to 29 cities across the globe. The majority of these cities are in the United States with 21 cities followed by 3 in Canada, 2 in Australia and with Singapore, France, and the UK each having a single city with the service available. Uber has been rapidly expanding in the Sub-Saharan market having launched in 9 cities across 6 nations in various countries. In Kenya, the service is available in Nairobi, Thika and Mombasa.
