Huawei is expected to go to market with a new phablet before the end of the year. When we’ll exactly get to see the device is not clear at this point with some pointing to IFA 2016 in Berlin in the next few days while others seem to think a late appearance is likely before going on sale on time for the holidays. Whatever the case, it is coming.

Whatever the case, it is coming. There’s no doubt about that.

Whether Huawei will stick with the traditional numbering system and make this the Mate 9 or continue from where it left around the same time last year with the Mate S is also not clear.

New renders that attempt to put everything we’ve heard about the device lately together have shown up as you can see in the above header image and the photos below.

The dual-camera setup that Huawei is now implementing on its devices is expected to hit the Mate series while other novelties like the fingerprint sensor will stay put at the back. Whether the camera will still be certified by German lens maker Leica is another matter altogether. A full HD display, 4GB RAM and a Kirin 960 chip are the other specs being thrown around.
