Qualcomm is currently dominating the mobile chip market. This is evidenced in the recent list of 2016 most powerful smartphones in the world where almost all the top 5 are powered by Snapdragon chip.

For instance, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and
Galaxy S7 Edge, Xiaomi Mi5, LG G5, HTC 10,
etc are great devices that run on Snapdragon chipset.

Although, some of the previous Snapdragon
chips (mainly 810 and partially 820) usually
heat up most times, the company has since
then produced new ones to fix the issue of
over-heating and this week, Qualcomm
Technologies announced a new chip, the
Snapdragon 821.

Qualcomm stated that this particular one is
not a complete blown upgrade to the 820 chip. But would instead offer a few improvements here and there. Some of the improvements are faster speeds, improved power saving, and greater application performance.

The statement goes thus;
"The Snapdragon 821 is engineered to deliver a 10% performance increase over the 820 with the Qualcomm Kryo quad-core CPU, reaching speeds up to 2.4GHz."

About The Speed
The latest chip can reach 2.4 GHz at maximum which is a slight improvement from what it’s predecessor offers which is 2.15GHz at maximum.

New Smartphones will be produced and they will come with the Snapdragon 821 chip before this year runs down.
